Further info
The service primarily supports working-age adults, although it is open to any Foodbank client in need of assistance. Clients are offered advice on welfare benefits and support provided is aimed at maximising their household income. Where additional needs are identified, clients can also be referred or signposted to other specialist services covering areas such as debt, housing, immigration and mental health support.
Upon arrival, clients receive a three-day emergency food parcel from the Foodbank and are introduced to the VAEF Benefits Advice service. An initial triage assessment is carried out to better understand their circumstances and financial situation, followed by arranging a one-to-one appointment for follow on support where needed.
